Surface protection & treatment for your furniture piece
All of our furniture pieces come with a natural, untreated surface. We love open wood surfaces because they preserve the natural qualities of the wood. However, we completely understand if you’d like to give the surface some extra protection. There are several options available for this:

Treatment with soap and water
This surface treatment provides basic protection against stains and helps preserve the light tone of birch wood over time, as exposure to sunlight naturally causes the light birch wood to become warmer and slightly more yellow with age.

Hardwax oil treatment
This surface treatment provides better protection against stains than the soap treatment, but it is less effective at preventing the wood from yellowing over time due to exposure to sunlight.
Where can I buy the products?
1. You can find soap in most supermarkets or drugstores. The main thing to look for is an unscented pure soap.
2. For the hardwax oil treatment, we recommend products from OSMO:
First coat: we recommend Osmo Hardwax Oil Effect Natural 3041. It contains a small amount of white pigments to prevent the wood from darkening.

Second coat: Osmo Hard Wax Oil Original colorless matt 3062 for complete treatment and protection of the surface.

How can I clean the surface?
The gentlest and best way to remove dirt from our products is with a damp cloth and, if necessary, a little soapy water. Then leave to dry at room temperature. Please do not use an additional heat source such as a heater or direct sunlight for drying and do not use strong cleaning agents, disinfectants or hot water for cleaning.
